I’ve been thinking about Urban Agriculture a lot recently. And while this is isn’t quite collard greens grown on a Boston rooftop, I think this is a quirky cute reminder that you cannot control motha nature! She will grow onto your once well-groomed sidewalks.

I like the idea of a little green in the big city. This is why I support Initiatives like Mayor Menino’s Open Space Plan. Basically what the plan is is to create more, well, open space in the city for people. Open spaces where people can hang out can help to foster a community. Conveniently, these open, green spaces are also good for the environment –more green space will lower our carbon footprint, produce more CO2, on occasion produce food, beautify communities, and bring people together.

I’m in favor.
